Report and photos from the first tennis tournament on the courts of Legia

On June 5, the courts of Warsaw Legia hosted the participants of the first tennis picnic organized by the Warsaw-Illinois Executive MBA Alumni Association and Executive MBA @ UW. The partners of the event were Lexus, the International Management Center of the University of Warsaw and Legia Warsaw.

18 competitors took part in the competition. 12 people competed in the singles competition, and 6 created doubles pairs with the coaches of the Legia Tenis & Golf Club and competed in the ProAm category.

The event was opened by Sylwester Wybranowski and Krzysztof Pajączek, who welcomed the guests and informed about further activities organized by the Association. Then a fight broke out on the four courts of the Warsaw Legia.

In the singles tournament, Carlo Andrea Carmenati turned out to be the best. The second place was taken by Michał Zdziarski, and the third place was taken by Dariusz Sokołowski. In the ProAm competition, the doubles with the participation of Aleksander Sosnowski triumphed, and the second place went to Eliza Wójcik. Aleksandra Sieniawska took the third place.

After the excitement on the court, the excitement in front of the screen came. Tournament participants had the opportunity to watch the Roland-Garros men’s final, in which Rafael Nadal defeated Casper Ruud, winning the 14th title at the Paris meal.

Undoubtedly, the achievement of Rafael Nadal, as well as the great attitude of the participants of the tennis picnic on the court, will be an inspiration to organize further events of this nature. Another tennis picnic in September!
