On September 19, the Executive MBA @ UW Alumni Ball was held at the Westin Hotel in Warsaw. This year’s alumni celebrated graduation with graduates from previous editions. 115 people took part in the ball.
Nearly 100 poeple have joined the group of alumni of the Eexecutive MBA program implemented at the University of Warsaw this year. The guests of the event were welcomed by Sylwester Wybranowski and Krzysztof Pajączek, respectively the President and Vice-President of the Management Board of the Warsaw-Illinois Executive MBA Alumni Association and Executive MBA @ UW “Nowy Świat”. The President of the Association invited new graduates to join the Association, presenting the activities carried out by the organization, even in the time of a pandemic. At least 12 webinars should be mentioned here, which were a source of interesting observations, inspiring ideas, as well as practical knowledge on various areas of professional and business activity during the epidemic. Invariably up-to-date, although postponed in time, there are such events as the very popular Business Mixers with the participation of specialists from various industries who talk about the specifics of their activities, or sports and recreational activities, such as the upcoming Canary Islands cruise (9-16 January, 2021 or the next, third edition of skiing trip to Jaworzyna Krynicka (February 10-14, 2021) The Board of the Association will keep you informed about all activities.
Among the invited guests there were representatives of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw. We hosted, among others Dr. hab. Monika Skorek, the new vice-dean for student affairs and the quality of education at the University of Warsaw, as well as the winner of many awards for the most popular lecturer – Dr. Tomasz Ludwicki – Director of the Executive MBA Program at the University of Warsaw.
This year’s ball’s gold partner was Elgór + Hansen S.A. Elgór + Hansen S.A. deals with the design and production of power supply and switching equipment for machines used in mining, electronic components, design and implementation of IT solutions, implementation of industrial automation systems, development of technical designs of systems and devices, and integration of power and automation systems. The company operates in Poland and abroad. Andrzej Bociąga, the company’s Production Director, was present among the guests of the ball. Interestingly, the Elgór company has as many as 5 representatives among this year’s graduates of the Executive MBA Program.
Most of the Executive MBA Program classes take place in the building at ul. Nowy Świat 4. This street is one of the most important thoroughfares of the Śródmieście District. At this year’s ball, we also hosted one of the district’s hosts – Mr Tomasz Bratek, Deputy Mayor of the Śródmieście District of the Capital City of Warsaw. Warsaw.
Later, alumni of the previous cohorts shared their observations with the new alumni. Piotr Dygas from Pekao TFI SA (line 23 PL) and Radosław Kowalczyk from Transition Technologies (cohort 23 US) talked about their experiences from the perspective of several years after graduation.
The ball was held for the first time in the beautiful interiors of the Westin Hotel. The event participants had the opportunity to meet Mr Piotr Lenczewski, Market Director of Sales at the Westin / Sheraton company, which owns a beautiful facility in the center of Warsaw.
After the official part, it was time to enjoy delicious cuisine, madness on the dance floor and backstage conversations. Graduates in fantastic mood after the morning Graduation ceremony, shared their observations, recalled the time when they where studying, which for many reasons, not only scientific, will forever remain in their memory.
